What is StatWatch?

StatWatch is a tool that gives you an up-to-the-moment view of your business throughout the day. Users can access site statistics and other data through an app on their iPhone, iPod Touch, or Android phone.

Sites can also visit www.statwatch.com to access the same information from any Internet-connected device's web browser.

StatWatch puts the most powerful SiteWatch and TunnelWatch reporting tools at your fingertips, showing sales and labor statistics for every site, profit center, and employee.

StatWatch lets you compare today's data with data from previous days, weeks, months, or even years; you can also compare numbers from each site against the others.

Owners and managers can keep track of site and employee performance from almost anywhere with clearly-presented charts and graphs.

StatWatch lets sites compare their organization's performance against the carwash industry as a whole, against washes in the organization's geographical area, or against washes of the same type (full service, flex-serve, etc.)

Who can use StatWatch?

StatWatch is available to SiteWatch Support Group Members. If you are not a SiteWatch Support Group Member, contact DRB Support at (330) 645- 3299.

What versions of SiteWatch are supported?

StatWatch works with SiteWatch 2008 (file version 18.9) and later.

What versions of TunnelWatch are supported?

StatWatch works with TunnelWatch 3.4 and later, as long as the TunnelWatch location matches the SiteWatch location of an existing StatWatch site.

What web browsers are supported?

The StatWatch web console is supported on the following browsers:

- Internet Explorer 8 and above
- The most recent versions of Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, or Google Chrome

StatWatch may work with other browsers and other browser versions, but DRB has not tested them and cannot guarantee that they will work properly.

Which smart phones are supported?

Android smart phones
StatWatch for Android requires Android version 2.1 (Eclair) or later and works best on devices with a screen resolution of 480x800 (WVGA800) or 480x854 (WVGA854).

Apple iPhone
The StatWatch iPhone app requires iPhone iOS 6.0 or later.

Are Android tablets and iPads supported?

Because of screen resolution issues, we do not recommend or support the use of the StatWatch app on tablets. However, tablet users can use the tablet's built-in web browser to view the StatWatch web console from anywhere that Internet access is available.

Are iPods supported?

The StatWatch app can be used on the iPod Touch as long as a Wi-Fi Internet connection is available and the device is running on iOS 6.0 or later.

Do you have an app for my Blackberry, Windows Mobile, or other device?

No, we do not currently have apps for these devices. To the extent that your device supports web browsing, you may be able to use the StatWatch web console to access statistics on your device.

How does StatWatch work?

The StatWatch Data Collector runs as a background service on each SiteWatch or TunnelWatch Server. About once a minute, it collects SiteWatch statistics for sales and labor and transmits them to a StatWatch Server maintained by DRB. Users can view statistics and graphs of the data by using a web browser or smart phone app.

How do projections work?

The StatWatch Projections feature helps organizations plan for the day by predicting car volumes. It does this by analyzing factors including the day of week, month of year, weather forecast, and car counts for previous weeks and months.

These projections are no guarantee, of course, but they can serve as one tool to help you determine how much labor you'll need on a given day.

How do weekly digest emails work?

If desired, StatWatch can send weekly emails giving a recap of each site's performance for the week.

Organizations determine who receives these digests and which sites each staff member gets bulletins for.

Organizations can opt out of receiving weekly digest emails.

What is IndustryWatch®?

IndustryWatch is a special tool that allows you to see how your organization's performance stacks up against the competition. Using the IndustryWatch table, you can see:

- How your organization's numbers stack up against the carwash industry as a whole.
- How your organization's numbers stack up against other washes in your region.
- How your organization's numbers stack up against washes of the same type as yours (e.g., Exterior, Full Serve).

Where do I install StatWatch?

SiteWatch users must download and install the StatWatch Data Collector from www.statwatch.com on the SiteWatch Server at each location.

Sites using TunnelWatch with SiteWatch must be running TunnelWatch Version 3.4 or later in order to access TunnelWatch data through StatWatch. The StatWatch Data Collector is already included with TunnelWatch 3.4 and later; it does not need to be downloaded.

The StatWatch app is available through the Apple App store or Google Play store.

Do I need to install StatWatch on my Replication Hub or Query Server?

No. Only Servers at operating sites need to have the StatWatch Data Collector installed on them.

Does the StatWatch Data Collector have a user interface?

No, it operates in the background invisibly.

How can I tell if the StatWatch Data Collector is working?

To tell whether the Data Collector is working for a single SiteWatch Server using the web interface:

1. Log in to www.statwatch.com.
2. On the Currently tab, the last updated date and time are listed next to the site name and location code near the top of the page.
3. To view the status for a different site, click on the site's location code in the blue location bar near the top of the page.

To tell whether the Data Collector is working for a single TunnelWatch Server using the web interface:

1. Log in to www.statwatch.com.
2. On the Currently tab, click the blue button at the bottom of the Cars Washed box. A TunnelWatch section appears.
3. If the site is using the correct version of TunnelWatch, and the Data Collector is correctly sending data, the last updated date and time appear in the top of the section on the right side of the screen.
4. To view the status for a different site, click on the site's location code in the blue location bar near the top of the page.

To tell whether Data Collector is working for a single SiteWatch Server using the iPhone or Android app:

1. Open the app.
2. Touch the Currently button. The contents of the Currently tab appear. The last updated date and time are displayed at the bottom of the Cars Washed section just below the site name.
3. To see the last update for another site, click on the current location code in the blue location bar near the top of the page and select another location from the list.
4. There is no way to see the last updated date and time for all sites at once from the iPhone or Android app.

To tell whether Data Collector is working for a single TunnelWatch Server using the iPhone or Android app:

1. Open the app.
2. Touch the Currently button. The contents of the Currently tab appear.
3. Press the blue Conveyor Speed bar just below the Cars Washed section. A Conveyor Status section appears.
4. If the site is using the correct version of TunnelWatch, and the Data Collector is correctly sending data, the last updated date and time appear next to the words Conveyor Status. Note that the colored dot on the blue bar is also an indicator. If the dot is red or green, communication has occurred within the last hour. If the dot is yellow, the last update occurred more than an hour ago.
There is no way to see the last updated date.

Why does StatWatch need to update my location code?

The new location code format allows StatWatch to identify and link the sites in your organization.

How far back can I view my statistics?

The Data Collector finds and transmits historical statistics going back to January 1st, 2010. Note: Sites that installed StatWatch in 2010 will have data going back to January 1st, 2009.

If the site first installed SiteWatch after January 1st, 2010, the Data Collector finds and transmits historical statistics going back to the date when SiteWatch was first installed.

How long does it take to transmit my historical data?

Each week of statistics takes a while to transmit, so it may take a day or two after installation before you are able to access all of your historical statistics. Normal transaction processing will not be affected while historical statistics are transmitted.

Why don't I see any Top Services for a given profit center (e.g., Detail)?

To appear in the Top Services list, a service must have a history code/history bit assigned to it.

History codes are assigned in the History Code field of the Services editor. The code must be unique.

History bits are automatically assigned to services when the History Code field is configured.

In addition, services must be marked complete before they can be included in statistics.

How does StatWatch choose the services that show in the Top Services list?

By default, StatWatch selects the 10 best-selling services for the day for each profit center.

I'd like to see different services for a given profit center in the Top Services list.

Log in to the StatWatch website console as an administrator, go to the Settings section, and use the Services tab to choose up to 10 services to show in the Top Services list for each profit center.

Security

Who hosts the data, and where? Is it secure?

The data is hosted by DRB in a highly secure remote data center, which is guarded and operated by security-trained technical professionals.

Is the setup process secure?

Setup of StatWatch is secure. It requires administrative access to the SiteWatch Server and the highest level of SiteWatch security to install. From there, site administrators alone control the user list and rights.

Who can see my organization's data?

Only you and your designated users can access your StatWatch account. Specific site data is not available to anyone but you and your designated users.

Can DRB access my data?

DRB cannot access your StatWatch account unless you give us your user name, password, and express permission to do so.

Outside of controlled database access at a programmer level, there is no back door.

What about accessing my data for Support?

DRB Support staff cannot access a site's StatWatch account unless the site gives them the ability to do so. This can be accomplished in any of the following ways.

Someone at the site can log in to StatWatch with their own user name and password, then allow Support staff to access the computer remotely using LogMeIn.

Someone at the site can give Support the user name and password of one of the site's employees so that Support can log in as that person. Site staff can change the password to that account after the Support staff logs out.

An administrator at the site can set up a user account exclusively for DRB Support on the Users tab of the Settings page in StatWatch. That user account can be deleted by a site administrator at any time.

Is StatWatch data transmitted securely?

StatWatch data transmission is all done using SSL encryption with authentication certificates. You can observe one end of this by the presence of the padlock icon on your browser, like what you see when you enter credit card numbers into a secure online store.
