This topic explains how StatWatch uses and interprets configuration and use data from SiteWatch. It describes some fields in Site Manager that have an impact on StatWatch. It also describes fields that StatWatch does not use or does not use in the way one might expect.
Because StatWatch reporting is designed to serve a separate purpose from the reports you can generate in Site Manager, the data that StatWatch shows may differ from the information seen on the General Sales Report, for example. That's because reports like the General Sales Report are used to analyze financial data grouped by report category, whereas StatWatch is designed to allow users to analyze production data grouped by profit center.
Wash Count Threshold and Sales $ Threshold: StatWatch uses these to determine whether to consider a site "open." However, if a user manually changes the Open sign on the Almanac page of StatWatch, that value overrides the values in these fields.
Because it is using the Wash Count Threshold and Sales $ Threshold fields, StatWatch ignores the Day/Times Site Open field.
Special Note About the Work Week Start Day Field
StatWatch looks to the Work Week Start Day field to determine employee hours in the Employees Working / Available box on the Currently tab.
This means it also looks to the Work Week Start Day field to pop up overtime warnings in the Alerts and Notifications list.
StatWatch does NOT look to the Work Week Start Day field to determine by-week data for graphs and stats - for that it looks to the Start of Sales Week field on the Organization tab of the Settings page on www.statwatch.com.
The site staff member who initially installs StatWatch must belong to a SiteWatch security group with the Rpt On Other Sites security key.
Two fields in the Services Editor determine which services appear on the StatWatch Settings: Services page:
*Profit Center: For a service to appear on the Services page, the value in this field must match the profit center selected. For instance, if the StatWatch user selects Wash, only services that have Wash in this field will be shown.
History Code: For a service to appear on the Services page, there must be a value in this field.
*Search Name: StatWatch uses the value from this field to display employee names in the following locations:
Currently Tab
Employees Working/Available
Top Sellers
Labor by Employee Role (Site/ARM profit center only)
StatWatch Weekly Digest: Top Sellers section.
*Home Site
Currently Tab
Employees Available list. Only employees with this site as their home site appear on the Employees Available list.
First Name & Last Name
Currently Tab
Appears in Employees Working / Employees Available list when the user hovers over an employee in the list
Labor by Employee Role (Site/ARM only) - appears when the user hovers over an employee in the list
Primary Phone
Currently tab
Labor by Employee Role (Site/ARM only): Shown when the user hovers over employee name.
Employees Working / Available: Shown when the user hovers over employee name.
Mobile phones ONLY: Employees Working / Available: Shown when the user presses the red telephone icon next to the employee name. Mobile users can then choose to call or text that number by pressing the appropriate option.
Wage Rate: Used to calculate Labor $/Car and Labor % data in the following locations:
Currently Tab - Labor Section
Labor Tab
Compare Tab - Labor Section
Achievements List (cars per man hour, labor dollars per car, labor percentage)
Multi-Site Tab
StatWatch Weekly Digest: Key Wash Metrics section
Overtime Rule: StatWatch looks at the value in this field to determine whether to warn users that the employee is currently or will soon be getting overtime pay.
If there's no value in the Overtime Rule field for an employee, the employee will not be tracked by StatWatch.
If this field is set to StandardOT or EmployeeSpecificOT, then the Labor section of the Currently tab warns when an employee is in or about to be in overtime. An overtime warning is also shown in the Alerts & Notifications dialog box.
If this field is set to StraightTimeOT, then StatWatch does not warn about overtime.
This affects the following StatWatch Components on the Currently tab:
Employees Working / Available: Shows whether employee is earning overtime or will soon be earning overtime by displaying their hours Today/Week values in red.
Alerts & Notifications: StatWatch displays a message in the Alert & Notifications popup when an employee is earning overtime.
Other Fields
None of the other fields in the Employees editor affect StatWatch data. This includes:
Security Role: Does NOT control what a StatWatch user can see. That is configured for each employee on the Users tab of the Settings page in StatWatch.
Password: Does NOT control what an employee's StatWatch password is.
The configuration in this editor is not related to StatWatch in any way. StatWatch also has site groups, but those are configured directly in StatWatch.
StatWatch uses employee punch information in the following ways:
Currently Tab
To display Cars/ManHr, Labor/Car, and Labor % in Labor box
To display the Employees Working/Available information.
To determine Top Sellers (employees are only shown on Top Sellers list if they are punched in as Current User or a sales role such as Wash Sales.)
Labor Tab
Compare Tab - Labor Section
Achievements (cars per man hour, labor dollars per car, labor percentage)
Multi-Site Tab - Labor Data
